Today's Class- Today we reviewed slides of text used in art as a visual element. Then, while students worked on a text based assignment, I helped them print their woodblocks one at a time. Toward the end of the class we looked at the text project, and critiqued the woodcut prints.How to make this up- The text assignment involved choosing random Russian words from a dictionary, and drawing them in such a way as to make their meanings known to the class. When you come to class next I'll give you what you need to complete the assignment. It's a portfolio project, so you can have until the rest of the semester to complete it.
Homework- If you have not printed your block yet, make sure to finish it and bring it to class as soon as possible. As with all graded projects, the longer it takes to arrive, the lower your grade will be.
For next week 11/13/07- We will be doing a project related to color temperature. Bring all your painting stuff- paints, brushes, palette, water container, etc, as well as your pad, pencil, scissors, and glue.
