Today's Class- Today we looked at the medium of photography. I showed slides with examples of the history of photography, from the earliest experiments of the 1800's to contemporary artists, discussing the changes of technology, and the ways that photographs address the same concerns as more traditional arts. A handout with a take home photo assignment was distributed. We also took a tour of the building, visiting many of the studio classrooms and observing the type of work done there. After that, we visited two exhibitions on campus, at the Human Rights Institute and at the CAS building.

Homework- The take home photography assignment is due at the beginning of class on November 7, 2012.
The research assignment on the various art historical periods is due at the beginning of class on October 24, 2012.
For next class 10/24/12- We will go back to working with color. Bring your 18" x 24" pad, watercolors, brushes, mixing palette and water container, along with the completed research papers.
